For more than 80 years, AAA has conducted professional, in-person property inspections and published the results for member travelers. AAA’s inventory includes more than 27,000 Inspected & Approved and Diamond Rated hotels across five rating levels – all meeting AAA’s standards for cleanliness, comfort and hospitality. AAA offers the only rating system using comprehensive, on-site professional hotel and restaurant evaluations guided by member priorities. With a far greater inventory than any other rating entity, AAA’s rating system covers the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Hotels do not pay to be included in the ratings but can apply for a rating. To become AAA Approved, the hotel must first meet 27 basic requirements, covering comfort, cleanliness, and safety. If the hotel is approved, AAA sends out anonymous raters to evaluate the hotel and assign a diamond rating from one to five.
